Crossrail has been hit with a nine month delay, despite bosses stating that the project was on budget and time. Crossrail was supposed to start taking passengers at the end of this year, but predictions are now that the first passengers will travel from autumn 2019. The project is now £590m over budget.

Renzo Piano has offered to design a new bridge in Genoa, to replace the bridge that collapsed last week killing 43 people. Piano, the architect behind The Shard, grew up in Genoa and wants to make a ‘beautiful’ bridge that serves as a memorial.

The Jubilee Pool in Penzance is set for a huge transformation becoming the UK’s largest heated seawater pool. Dubai-based architecture studio Znera have developed a proposal to deploy an interlocking grid of ‘air filters’ to clean Dehli’s toxic smog. Dehli is the most polluted city in the world, and the nitrogen oxide particles and volatile organic compounds in the air make it dangerous to breathe. The network of filters would produce 3.2 million cubic metres of clean air each day, to reduce pollution to moderate levels.
