The huge Brooklyn Navy Yard development announced earlier this year has made significant developments in terms of what the huge project will become. Proposals for ‘vertical manufacturing spaces’ have been put forward in new visuals. High-rises will create 5.1 million square feet of urban industrial space, creating a potential of up to 10,000 new jobs. However, the development is also seeking to become and social and cultural centre point for the residents of Brooklyn.

The beautiful 15 Clerkenwell Close building has been issued a demolition order by Islington Council. The RIBA award winning building, which also opened it’s doors last weekend for the Open House London event, has been told it is to be demolished because the natural stone used on its facade is not fully detailed in the planning documents. Architect Amin Taha, who lives in the building himself, is appealing this and will find out in a hearing in March 2019. We hope common sense prevails!
